Crank Brothers Speed Lever

Forget the days of wrestling with your tires trying to get that last bit on with a tire lever and usually pinching the tube. Argh! Crank Brothers' Speed Lever installs and removes tires by gently prying them on and off. Hook the lever end under the bead and onto the rim, telescope the tool to the right length and snap the other end onto the axle. Now, just rotate the lever around the wheel to pry the tire on and off. The Speed Lever works with all common tire and wheel combinations.

      Comments:

This thing is real finger saver and take away a lot of the fiddly annoyance of removing a tyre. Im not good at bike maintenance, but love this tool. I purchased my first years ago, and am only getting a second so that I can have the tool in a couple of locations.

        Comments:

The Speed Lever is a good tool and can quickly remove a tire. However on some rims it has a tendency to slip off and I have smashed my thumb on a spoke twice because of this. I have devised a workaround that makes it an even better tool. I slide a loop of nylon webbing around the rim end before inserting the tool. Then I pull on the webbing instead of the plastic while keeping my hand well away from the spokes. It actually works better and is definitely safer.
